We are happy to have assisted Moama's Cheapest Liquor in establishing their bottle shop in Moama, a quaint town on the border of Victoria.
We congratulate Moama’s Cheapest Liquor for their successful application for a packaged liquor licence which was accepted by the Independent Liquor and Gaming Authority (ILGA). Moama’s Cheapest Liquor is a new bottle shop set to open in the quaint rural town of Moama on the Victorian border with a focus on providing local wine and craft beer.
As ILGA is particularly concerned about the risk of alcohol-related harm created by packaged liquor licences, the application process can be long and tedious. However, with our assistance in drafting a Community Impact Statement (now a Statement of Risks and Potential Effects [SoRPE]) and other key documents, Moama’s Cheapest Liquor was able to prove to ILGA that their proposed premises would benefit the community of Moama and not detract from it.
We were further able to assist Moama’s Cheapest liquor by fulfilling their legal duty to their community by notifying key stakeholders of the creation of the licence application as well as assisting in their legal duty to patrons to enforce the responsible service of alcohol by creating an effective plan of management of the venue. The application also received feedback from the community and government agencies during the initial 30-day consultation process which we assisted in responding to and incorporated into an updated application for a packaged liquor licence. Our assistance in these matters demonstrates the utility of an experienced liquor and gaming team to rely upon for assistance.
