Gowing Bros. Port Central NCAT

We are delighted to have assisted Gowings Bros Limited in the grant of a packaged liquor licence within the Port Central Shopping Centre. The Application was originally refused by the Authority however under appeal to the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal (NCAT) the Application was approved after the experienced team at BSV Liquor and Gaming Lawyers entered negotiations with the Authority.

During the NCAT review process additional evidence was placed before the Authority. This included a carefully articulated analysis of the potential harms and benefits of the proposed boutique bottle-shop, together with the provision of several affidavits and reports by expert witnesses. This evidence ultimately persuaded the Authority to negotiate a set of conditions to allow the Application to be approved. Therefore, the NCAT made orders for the grant of the licence prior to the review being heard by it.
