The team at BSV have successfully assisted the freehold owner [and the future tenant] revive an historic Sydney pub site in Alexandria. The site has a long history of use as a hotel. It was previously known as the Balaclava Hotel and later the Buckland Hotel and finally Fratelli Fresh, before the licence lapsed.
The BSV team worked with the applicant to apply for a new replacement hotel licence. This included the preparation of a Category B Community Impact Statement (CIS) that was ultimately approved by the Board of the NSW Independent Liquor and Gaming Authority, allowing the hotel licence to issue. The CIS considered the impacts of the proposal, but it also took into consideration the concerns and interests of neighbouring premises. The BSV team also prepared the renewed outdoor dining application to the Council to allow the hotel to use the footpath areas adjacent to the hotel for drinking and dining.
BSV is delighted with the approval of the Application. The hotel licence is also endorsed with a minors area authorisation, allowing bar service and a new dining facility to those in the neighbourhood of Alexandria. The Mitch Hotel will be a safe family friendly community focused pub providing a great location to sit and enjoy a quiet drink with family and friends.
