Liquor licensing and planning matters are frequently co-dependent, and it is important for both aspects to be in line together to ensure compliance.
Liquor licensing and planning matters are frequently co-dependent, and it is important for both aspects to be in line with each other to ensure compliance. We are pleased to have assisted Cabuk Pty Ltd in their successful section 4.55(2) Development Application for Fat Thaiger at Haymarket, to extend their trial period for extended trading hours associated with their small bar licence.
In this case, BSV was able to secure consent to renew the extended trading hours for a further 5-year trial period, on top of the previous 2 years. The approval permits the business to trade from 5.30am to 3.00am the following day (with the period between 5.30am and 6.00am in the morning, and the period between 2.00am and 3.00am the next day subject to the 5 year trial). The approval process also allowed lesser outdoor trading hours (namely to 1.00am the following day). Having long-term confidence around operational aspects, such as trading hours, is crucial to ensure businesses can plan and grow without hinderance.
The approval affords Fat Thaiger such certainty as it is now permitted to harness the lively nighttime market of Haymarket around the City’s fringe and enjoy greater trading volume for at least the next 5 years.
